PARIS (AP) — Environmental activists explained Monday that they want to go ahead with programs to march in Paris just before the U.N. local weather summit afterwards this month, regardless of the attacks in the French capital.
A coalition of activist teams such as Avaaz, Greenpeace and 350.org said that they intend to “hold all the mobilizations currently planned,” like a march set for Nov. 29, the day just before the conference starts.
Demonstrations have been banned in France after a point out of emergency was declared pursuing the assaults that killed 129 people on Friday.
The environmental teams were set to meet French authorities on Tuesday to discuss how to go ahead. The prepared route of the march operates correct by means of some of the areas that were attacked.
“The tragedy in Paris has only strengthened our solve,” explained Nicolas Haeringer of 350.org. “We can believe of few much better responses to violence and terror than this movement’s thrust for peace and hope.”
