PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Countrywide Climate Provider states an instrument that fell from the sky, prompting a Philadelphia bomb squad response, weighed about a pound and experienced been launched with a climate balloon about 165 miles away.

Mitchell Gaines, of the weather support in Mount Holly, New Jersey, suggests the instrument named a radiosonde took off Saturday from the agency’s workplace in Sterling, Virginia. Higher winds carried it to Philadelphia.
