Maritime CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR, Calif., Nov. twenty five (UPI) — Firefighters intentionally set a turkey on hearth at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar to increase recognition of risk-free cooking techniques for the holiday getaway year.
Throughout the demonstration held for U.S. Marines, firefighters from the Miramar Hearth Office dropped an ice-chilly turkey into an overfilled fryer, utilizing the incorrect variety of oil and cooking at the wrong temperature. The aim was to present exactly what could go mistaken if a turkey is cooked improperly.
“So we are doing everything wrong here,” mentioned John Meyer, the firefighter who led the demonstration. “We want you fellas to see how badly factors can go incorrect just so that you can try and steer clear of this in excess of the vacation season.”
A model was placed next to the fryer to show the amount of injury a particular person could maintain. When the around-frozen turkey was dropped into the fryer, flames shot up inside seconds, searing the model in the process. The division shared movie on Twitter.
“We do this for the Marines due to the fact they confront so many risks on a day-to-day foundation,” Meyer included. “The worst point that we consider could happen to them is that they confront yet another danger on thanksgiving or throughout the holidays that could’ve been prevented.”
