‘Sickening blow’: Police charge man over Gold Coast attack on Korean student

A gentleman has been billed for allegedly kicking a Korean scholar in the head and robbing him whilst unconscious outdoors a Gold Coast karaoke bar.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Procter stated two guys approached the scholar and his companion outdoors the bar in Southport Shopping mall early on Wednesday early morning.

A single guy distracted the pair and the other kicked one of the students in the head.

“You will see by the footage it is really a sickening blow, it is very an unsavoury subject and we’d like to get it dealt with as quickly as we could,” Detective Procter stated.

“The target was rendered unconscious immediately. The other victim was chased off by the two offenders.

“The two offenders returned to the Korean countrywide in which they proceeded to go through his pockets and steal his telephone.

“If folks could look at the footage closely, if any individual need to recognise these folks if they could contact Criminal offense Stoppers right away.”

The hurt college student was taken care of at the Gold Coastline College Healthcare facility but was not admitted.

A 26-year-old man from Labrador handed himself in and was charged with armed theft and assault occasioning bodily damage, Queensland Police mentioned in a statement.
