A volcano in Nicaragua has erupted for the initial time in a hundred and ten a long time, spouting ash and lava.
The Momotombo volcano, close to Lake Managua in the country’s west, started erupting this 7 days, Countrywide Geographic noted.
The eruption began on Monday, when ash and lava started out to spew from the mountain.
Nearby media mentioned men and women commenced emotion tremors about two months ago.
An update from the Washington Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre on Friday said seismic exercise in the area was decreasing.
Momotombo erupted ten instances between 1849 and 1905 prior to heading silent for far more than a century.
It had earlier erupted in the 1600s, forcing the relocation of the town of Leon Viejo by about 50 kilometres to the current-working day town of Leon, closer to Nicaragua’s west coastline.
The mountain’s summit is one,297 metres tall.
