VATICAN CITY—The Vatican has engaged an exterior auditor for its consolidated fiscal statements as part of financial reforms.
The Holy See stated Saturday it has chosen PricewaterhouseCoopers, which will get to operate quickly on the 2015 audit.
Turning to an outside the house auditor places the Vatican, extended known for its secretive banking and other monetary procedures, more in line with global specifications.
Pope Francis has pledged to reform the Holy See’s fiscal practices as effectively as root out corruption and inefficiency at the headquarters of the Roman Catholic church.
