WASHINGTON: A majority of Americans oppose Donald Trump’s controversial program to ban Muslims from getting into the United States, but 1 in four supports it, in accordance to the first main nationwide poll because the furor erupted.
The frontrunner for the Republican nomination for the White Home brought on an outcry on Monday with the proposal, which was lambasted at house and overseas.
Fifty-7 % of adults in the US are in opposition to the idea, whilst 25 percent are for it, in accordance to the new study by NBC News and the Wall Avenue Journal on Thursday.
Eighteen % did not know or had no view.
Between Republicans the views are combined: 42 per cent of Republican respondents again Trump’s Muslim ban, although 36 per cent oppose it.
