Turkish Airlines flight diverts to Canada after bomb threat

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) — The Royal Canadian Mounted Law enforcement says it is investigating a bomb threat that caused a Turkish Airways flight from New York Metropolis to Istanbul to divert and land in Canada.

Halifax Stanfield Worldwide Airport said on its Twitter feed early Sunday that Flight 2 experienced landed securely and that law enforcement had been at the scene.

The airport’s tweet states 256 individuals ended up on board.

The RCMP in Nova Scotia mentioned on its Twitter feed that it would not remark on the specifics of the bomb threat and was looking to recognize the particular person or people dependable.
