SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Syracuse has fired football coach Scott Shafer two days right after the team’s eighth straight loss.
Athletic director Mark Coyle announced the dismissal Monday and explained a national research will get started immediately. Shafer will coach the time finale against Boston School on Saturday.
The Orange (3-eight) started out the year with 3 straight wins prior to likely into a tailspin for the second consecutive year. The newest decline was this past weekend at North Carolina State.
Coyle was employed in June and had not spoken publicly about Shafer’s future since issuing a wait around-and-see technique just before the season. The Orange went three-9 last season, and Shafer has absent just 2-thirteen in the ACC the past two many years.
